Access

Approach to site

The Engine Shed is 350m from Forthside car park close to Vue, along tarmac paths with some raised kerbs.

Visitors arriving from Stirling train station should turn left on exiting the station and cross a bridge that has a lift at either end to allow step-free access. The route to the Engine Shed is then about 150m long on level pavements with dropped kerb crossings.

Our main spaces

The Engine Shed entrance and its interior are on the level. There is an induction loop in the reception area and theatre.

Toilets

There is a fully accessible toilet near to the reception area.

Assistance dogs

Assistance dogs are welcome:

• at all Historic Environment Scotland locations
• within roofed areas

Keep Safe Place

We provide a ‘Keep Safe’ place to come to for anyone in the community who is feeling lost, frightened, distressed or who has been a victim of crime.

We are part of an established network of Keep Safe Places within communities across Scotland. All Keep Safe Premises are screened by Police Scotland and our trained staff are available to offer assistance.

Car and coach parking

Visitors travelling to the Engine Shed by car and coach can use the public car park approximately 350m away for a small charge. There are 20+ accessible parking bays available and electric charging points.

Additionally, facing the Engine Shed's entrance there are two parking spaces offering free parking for Blue Badge holders. These can be located on the road running parallel to the railway line.
